Server creation and administration

Windows servers provide applications and services that manage a network. This course examines the implementation of these services in a networked environment, and teaches students how to install, configure, and manage common services such as such as Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name Service (DNS), and file and print services.


Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:

1. Evaluate Windows server operating systems based on business requirements
2. Apply administrative procedures for the purpose of setting up users and groups
3. Secure servers by configuring access rights to their resources
4. Implement a Windows Active Directory Domain
5. Configure Windows name resolution and additional services

– Security planning and administrative delegation
– Group Policy management and configuration
– Software installation in a Windows domain
